Hi all
Open coding day in Cambridge with the Cambridge .NET
developer’s user group:
Twitter:
If you want to tweet about tomorrow’s open coding day
in Cambridge, please use the tweetcode #camdug. Iwill appreciate any tweets
supporting tomorrows event and the developer’s user group in general.
;-P
Wifi + Mobile broadband (3G)
If you have mobile broadband, please bring it with you as a
backup. Murphy’s law something may go wrong with my wifi or internet
connection, so bring your own 3G mobile internet access with you if you can as
a backup in case it goes down.
SVN Code on Google: You need a google account:
I should have brought all of this up earlier this week, bit
of a learning curve for me hosting my first open coding day, but ...we’ll
all need a Google account in order to access the CAMDUG code hosted on Google.
If you don’t have a google account, please create one
before you arrive tomorrow.
If you want to check something into SVN before you arrive
tomorrow, or just want to setup your machine and check that you’re all
good to go, then the
Tortoise SVN: Or any SVN client:
Ideally you should already have SVN software installed. (http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/ )
I also recommend visual SVN. SVN Plug-in for visual studio.
If you’ve never used SVN before, then that’s not
a problem, we can cut you a copy of the code using USB stick.
Access permissions to the project on Google Code:
NB! Please email me your Google
email address, so that I can add you as a project member on Google code.
You will have read-only rights to the project until you’re added.
The project web address is : http://code.google.com/p/camdug/
The project SVN address on Google code is : https://camdug.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
If you are having problems logging in then don’t worry
it’s quite easy, as long as you have a google account and tortoise SVN client
installed, it will only take few minutes, and we can help you get connected
tomorrow morning before we start.
You can reply to this message to send a message to the whole
group / everyone attending tomorrow. If you want to send me a private message
then email me on [address removed]
Orientation / Coffee
If you want to arrive early from 9am to 10am for “orientation”
I’ll be serving coffee and croissants. You can use this time to install SVN,
or if you need help to get anything setup or get connected to Google or anything
else.
We’ll start choosing topics to work on 10am, and then
break into groups for the first sessions.
Cheers all,
Cya tomorrow,
Regards
Alan
