I had a great day and learnt a lot. I thought the early discussions were very useful Like many who aren't familiar with package management, or only have a passing acquaintance with NuGet, I didn't properly grok the problem that package management addresses. So not only did I gain a deeper understanding of the value of package management, I was in a much better position to get the most out of the hands-on session and the discussion with Sebastien. I also thought the format ensured that the more laconic attendees had their voices heard. I now have a much better understanding of OpenWrap's role, not merely consuming 3rd party code but as an internal tool for managing complex projects. It was an invaluable opportunity to learn from other developers and from a recognised leader in the field. So a big thank you to Alan for organising the event and especially to Sebastien for making the trip to Cambridge.

Not wanting to be too critical, but for a meetup titled “hands-on workshop” I feel there wasn’t much hands-on. There was a little, and I got a good impression of OpenWrap during those minutes, but overall too much time was spent just talking. In fact, a substantial amount of time was spent discussing what to discuss...

A very insightful and useful day. Before the event, I had an idea that package management might be a solution to a specific problem I am having, but after attending I am certain it is. The morning took the form of a group discussion about why there is a need for package management and what problems it can solve, followed by a hands-on session to get OpenWrap set up and integrated with an example project. After lunch, Sebastien demoed the new version of OpenWrap, some of its new features and how it has fixed some of the problems that were present in the previous version. We also had lots of good talk about the specifics of how OpenWrap can solve the issues that members of the group were having.

For a cancelled event we had a nice turnout. More casual than normal and had some good discussion over coffee & lunch. Nice 2 have some company while I did some catch up coding of my own.

There were 4 of us in total, Timwi, Nick, Cathy and myself. Weather was fabulous and Cb2 lived up 2 it's reputation of a great place 2 hangout at the end of the week. Some lively discussion around how you measure value in a hopothetical volunteer teaching socal website.

I didnt expect anyone to join me because I posted the invite only 3 hours before we met and four of us had a great chat in the sun, about data visualisation which led on to us agreeing to plan a Javascript data visualation event for Camdug. Looking forward to that! ;-p

We spent a while getting Nick set up with the various tools, etc., and got the PhoneGap client into GitHub (be sure to update your fork to get this code). The PhoneGap client is now correctly talking to our Rails service using HTTP+JSON; next we need to work out how to parse the JSON response correctly.

Excellent day. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is I'd like to have spent some time looking at how to apply TDD to web development.
