Coding blitz Friday open coding session and beers

A WHOLE OPEN CODING DAY CONDENSED INTO 1 HOUR!

Friday open coding session and beers, bring your laptop to big Al's house, and come and do some hands on coding and sharing and learning.

I'm going to attempt the following in 1 hour:
To build an example using Structuremap with MVC and construct a highly scalable base MVC server control. I want to prototype a design pattern I've been thinking about in my head that involves leveraging structureMap which I believe will bring better composability to my MVC projects. (Since most MVC controls have methods that return strings, this has posed some architectural challenges for me that make building highly composable websites quite difficult because viewmodels often have to carry state data for custom controls, e.g. business object pickers.

Anyone else is welcome to come along and code on anything else they're interested in. The goal is to start a coding blitz with a bunch of guys at the same time, state what you intend to do, code like hell, then give a retrospective.

Based on the inverse of the principle that work expands to fill available time, i.e. the only way to do something remarkable in a short time, is to do it in a remarkably short time!

This is a short open coding session of 1 and half hour only, after which we will retire to CB2 for drinks. Those of you who can't make to the open coding session, feel free to meet us at CB2 at 5pm.

AGENDA:
* arrive 3:15 to 3:30 - introduce what you hope to code in 1 hour to the group or join someone and pair program
* 3:30 to 4:30 1 hour blitz open coding.
* 4:30 to 5pm : retrospective, share with others lessons learnt.
* 5 to 6pm : Beers at CB2

Will be held at my house: If we get more than 7 people RSVP'ing then I'll be begging some space off Ronnie and Stephen and the gang at The Agile Workshop. If only 1 other person arrives then we can do some pair programming. You can learn a great deal pair programming in a small team of 2.

I will be running similar half day open coding days more regularly on Saturdays from August onwards. (I currently have a commitment that prevents me from running them on Saturdays for now.)
